Game Recap: Lightning VS Sabres
The Lightning opened up the night with an early first goal of the game. Brayden Point scored the Lightning’s first goal 26 seconds into the first, assisted by Nikita Kucherov and Tyler Johnson. Sam Reinhart retaliated with a goal, assisted by Jeff Skinner and Rasmus Dahlin, giving the Sabres their first goal of the night. Tage Thompson followed with a second Sabre goal, assisted by Zemgus Girgensons and Vladimir Sobotka. Consequently, the Lightning ended the first trailing by one goal.
End of First Period: 2-1 Sabres
Both teams both held strong on their defenses during the second period, keeping goals to a minimum. Ondřej Palát scored the only goal of the period with Mikhail Sergachev and Victor Hedman assisting. As a result, the period ended with a tie game between the Lightning and the Sabres.
