Playoffs: Tampa Bay Lightning VS Columbus Blue Jackets – Game 1
Tonight kicks off the NHL playoffs for the Tampa Bay Lightning. For the first round, they are taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets with game 1 being played at Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay. The game starts at 7:00 PM ET / 4:00 PM PT.
Who Will Win?
Tampa Bay Lightning
Tampa Bay had an incredible year, dominating both their division and the league in the regular season games. Ending the season, the Lightning held a record of 62-16-4 and lead the Atlantic Division with 128 points. They ended with 325 goals for and 222 goals against for a difference of 103, also well above any other team in the division. They have shown a lot of potential to make it to the Stanley Cup, and if they play as aggressively as they have all year, there’s little doubt that they can take it all the way.
Columbus Blue Jackets
While not as dominating of a season as the Lightning had, the Columbus Blue Jackets had a decent regular season, ranking 5th in points in the Metropolitan Division with 98 points, and holding a record of 47-31-4. They also have 258 goals for and 232 goals against for a difference of 26.
Team Stats Face Off
In the regular season games, the Lightning defeated the Blue Jackets in both of their recent games played. First, Tampa Bay achieved a shutout victory of 4-0 against Columbus back in January of this year. Then, they reached another high-scoring victory with a 5-1 win over Columbus in February.
Will the Columbus Blue Jackets kick off the first round of playoffs with a victory? Or, will the Lightning’s dominating streak keep them going on the path to victory? Stay tuned for the game recap tonight!
