Game Recap: Tampa Bay Lightning VS Toronto Maple Leafs

First Period

Let’s get straight to the point… Brayden Point that is! Brayden Point scored the first goal of the night for the Tampa Bay Lightning. With this goal, he also achieved an incredible 30 goals so far in the season. Way to go Brayden Point! Also, Victor Hedman and Steven Stamkos assisted on the first Lightning goal. Nazem Kadri scored the first Toronto Maple Leafs goal of the night. Patrick Marleau and Kasperi Kapanen assisted on the Leafs goal, tying the game 1-1. 
End of First Period: 1-1 Tied

Second Period

Patrick Marleau scored a second goal for the Leafs, giving Toronto a 1 goal lead with Nikita Zaitsev and Nazem Kadri assisting on the goal. Just 37 seconds later, Victor Hedman recovered the tie with a goal of his own with assists from Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point. However, Mitchell Marner came back with another goal for the Leafs, giving back a 1 goal lead to Toronto. John Tavares and Andreas Johnsson assisted on the goal.
End of Second Period: 3-2 Toronto Maple Leafs

Third Period

Both teams were scoreless for most of the third period. With 6 minutes left, Andrei Vasilevskiy makes an outstanding save, just inches away from the Leafs scoring and keeping the score at 3-2. He made yet another incredible save with 4 minutes left in the third, with a mob of players fighting for the puck at the goal line and lead to Hyman brutally pushed out of the crease over Vasilevskiy. With under a minute left in the third, the Maple Leafs make an empty netter goal. Zach Hyman made the score with assists from Nikita Zaitsev and John Tavares, giving the Toronto Maple Leafs a 4-2 win.
