First Period

The Montreal Canadians were first to score tonight with a goal from Andrew Shaw. Quickly following was a second Montreal goal by Kenny Agostino. Yanni Gourde answered back with a goal for the Lightning, also giving him his 11th goal of the season and his 100th career point. Anton Stralman scored the Lightning’s 2nd goal of the night, tying the game at 2-2. Jordie Benn broke the tie with a 3rd Montreal goal just before the end of the first.
End of 1st period: 3-2 Montreal Canadiens

Second Period

In the second period, the Lightning made a comeback with a goal from Nikita Kucherov, making it a tied game at 3-3. In this play, Victor Hedman also achieved his 300th NHL career assist. Tyler Johnson came through with another Lightning goal, making the score 4-3 with Lightning in the lead. It was a shortlived lead though as Brett Kulak scored a 4th goal for the Canadiens. Montreal then took the lead with a goal from Andrew Shaw.
End of 2nd period: 5-4 Montreal Canadiens

Third Period

The third period raised tensions as both sides went the majority of the period without a goal. Adam Erne broke the stalemate with a score at 9 minutes 36 seconds left in the third and tying the game at 5. Adam Erne then scored a second goal, taking the Lightning to a 6-5 lead.
Final Score: 6-5 Tampa Bay Lightning
