Game Recap: Tampa Bay Lightning VS New York Rangers
The Tampa Bay Lightning pulled off a second win in New York this weekend, defeating the New York Rangers 3-2.
After striking in a tough storm last night, The Lightning came out strong kicking the game off with a goal in the first period. Yanni Gourde started the Lightning off with their first goal of the night. Mathieu Joseph and Ryan McDonagh assisted on the first Lightning goal. The Lightning defense held strong and kept the New York Rangers from scoring in the first.
End of First Period: 1-0 Tampa Bay Lightning
Erik Cernak scored a second goal for the Lightning early in the second period, with Ryan Callahan and Cedric Paquette assisting on the goal. Shortly after, Steven Stamkos followed up with a third goal for the Lightning with assists from Victor Hedman and Nikita Kucherov. At this point in the game, the Lightning held a 3-0 lead over the Rangers. Finally breaking the shutout, Mats Zuccarello scored the first goal of the night for the New York Rangers. Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad assisted on the goal.
