Tampa Bay Lightning VS Los Angeles Kings Game Recap
Starting off strong, the Lightning definitely made their point with Brayden Point scoring the first goal of the night. He scored just a minute and 5 seconds into the game with Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov assisting. Following, Anthony Cirelli scored a second Lightning goal of the night with assists from Braydon Coburn and Yanni Gourde.

The second period was a defensive battle between the Los Angeles Kings and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Neither one was able to achieve an offensive advantage, leaving the Lightning with a two-goal advantage over

In the third period, the LA Kings began to take over the game and give the Lightning a run for their money. Opening the period, Alex Iafallo scored the first Kings goal of the night, assisted by Austin Wagner. Jonny Brodinski followed up with a second LA goal with Brendan Leipsic assisting. Then, Austin Wagner scored a third consecutive Kings goal and giving Los Angeles a one-goal lead at 11 minutes and 6 seconds into the third. However, the lead was short-lived. Just a minute later, J.T. Miller with Steven Stamkos assisting, scored another Lightning goal and tied the game. The third period wrapped up without another goal from either side, sending the game into overtime.

As the game went into overtime, defense took over for both teams again. Neither team was able to score, holding both sides at a tie. Overtime came to an end without a goal and this took the game to a shootout.
Starting off the shootout was Steven Stamkos of the Lightning who scored on his attempt. Then, Ilya Kovalchuk was first up to attempt for the Kings, also resulting in a goal. Brayden Point was next to attempt, resulting in a save. Next, Anze Kopitar attempted and scored for the Kings, giving them a 1 goal advantage on the shootout. Nikita Kucherov came back with another Lightning goal, making it 2-2 in the shootout. Last on the shootout for the Kings was Adrian Kemp, whose attempt resulted in a save. This allowed Victor Hedman to follow up and score the Lightning’s third goal in the shootout and win the game.
