Tampa Bay Lightning VS Boston Bruins Game Recap
Tonight’s game started off very defensive on both sides of the ice with little to come from either offensive line. The first ended up being a scoreless period. The Tampa Bay Lightning ended the period with 14 hits and 58% face off wins. However, they ended the period with only 4 shots on goal. Meanwhile, the Boston Bruins won 42% of the face offs, had 7 hits and attempted 17 shots on goal.
End of the First Period: 0-0 Tie Game
The first score of the night came in the second period on the power play favoring the Boston Bruins. Jake DeBrusk scored the goal that ended the stalemate with Krug and Rask assisting. By the end of the second period, the Lightning had 9 shots on goal, but no scores. They also had 48% faceoff wins and 24 hits. The Bruins had a 1 goal lead with 32 shots on goal, won 52% of the faceoffs, and had 15 hits.
End of the Second Period: 1-0 Boston Bruins
With 3 minutes and 13 seconds left in the game, Noel Acciari scored a second Bruins goal of the night with an assist from Wagner. Patrice Bergeron followed up with another goal for Boston under a minute later. Heinen and Acciari assisted on the goal. Brad Marchand then came in with third Bruins goal within a minute and 28 seconds, assisted by Heinen and Krug.
Up until this point, Domingue was having an incredible game. Prior to this, he had 36 saves of 37 attempted shots on goal, many of which were, by far, impressive saves. The tension of the game was building, but there was no doubt that Domingue had an impressive night, none the less.
Following the 3 quick goals, the Lightning finally struck back and put a score up on the board. Anthony Cirelli scored the first Lightning goal of the night with Ondrej Palat assisting. The game ended with a Bruins victory 3 goals and ending the Lightning’s 10 game win streak.
