Tampa Bay Lightning VS Winnipeg Jets Game Recap

First Period

In the first period, the Tampa Bay Lightning opened with the first goal of the night less than 2 minutes into the game. Yanni Gourde scored the first goal with Palat and Girardi assisting. Blake Wheeler followed nearly 5 minutes later with the first Jets goal of the night. He was assisted by Laine and Trouba. The first period came to an end with a tied score of 1.
End of the First Period: 1-1 Tied

Second Period

The Lightning started bringing the heat in the second period. They dominated the second with two consecutive goals and their defense shutting down the Jets’ offense. Adam Erne scored the first Lightning goal of the period with assists by Joseph and Cirelli. Following that, Steven Stamkos scored another goal with Hedman and Kucherov assisting. By the end of the second period, the Winnipeg Jets faced a two-goal deficit.
End of the Second Period: 3-1 Tampa Bay Lightning

Third Period

Opening the third period, Cedric Paquette scored yet another Lightning goal with assists from Joseph and Erne. Then, Brayden Point scored a fourth consecutive and fifth total Lightning goal for the night. Stamkos and Kucherov assisted on the fifth goal that the gave the Lightning a 4-goal lead on the Jets. Before the end of the game, Winnipeg was able to get one more score on the board. The final goal of the night was scored by Jacob Trouba with Hellebuyck assisting. The game came to a close with a Lightning victory.
