First Period

Starting off the game, the Maple Leafs took control of the first, scoring the first goal of the night and the only goal in the first period. Mitchell Marner scored the only Toronto goal of the evening with Hyman assisting. The period came to a close with the Toronto Maple Leafs leading by a goal.

Second Period

Heading into the second period down by one, the Lightning started to take charge of the game. Steven Stamkos with McDonagh assisting on the play. He scored the first goal of the night for Tampa Bay and the only game of the period. Thus, the second period ended with a tie of 1.
End of the Second Period: 1-1 Tie Game

Third Period

With the game heading into the final period, held at a tie, both teams worked hard to achieve an advantage on the game. For more than half of the third, neither team was able to get a second score on the board. Finally, Alex Killorn broke the tie in favor of the Tampa Bay Lightning with Stamkos and Sergachev assisting on the play. Then, Nikita Kucherov closed out the evening, scoring one final goal with less than a minute in the game. McDonagh assisted on the last goal of the night. As a result, the game ended with a Tampa Bay Lightning victory.
